Wintegra Introduces WiMax Solutions

AUSTIN, TX -- Chip design company Wintegra announced the commercial availability of WinMax, its new line of single chip processors and associated software for WiMAX base station applications.

Wintegra says its chip solutions "provide a solution that is cost-competitive with ASICs yet offers the unique benefit of full software-based programmability, field upgradeability (to meet evolving standards), and a full family of pin-compatible, SW compatible parts."

Wintegra is backed by Concord Ventures, Magma Venture Partners, Genesis Partners, Marvell Electronic, China Development Bank, TI and PMC Sierra.
